Some of our great boho looks are made of traditional jewelry materials – sterling silver, copper, brass, and other metals. Metals can be artfully fabricated into pendants, earrings, and other adornments. Special jewelers versions of  hammers, rolling mills, pliers, saws, and the indispensable  jewelers torch are used to heat and shape metals into various forms. Metals have been used to make jewelry since around 7000 BCE.

We also make jewelry from a relatively new material called polymer clay. There are various grades of polymer clay, and we only use professional or jeweler’s grade. Professional grade polymer clay is extremely lightweight, very strong, and not at all brittle. Although it contains no actual clay mineral, it is similar in texture and malleability to clay, easy to shape and mold. The light weight makes it especially great for making relatively large pieces of jewelry. Polymer is so lightweight, we can make very large earrings that will not pull your earlobes down and will not cause elongation of the holes in your pierced ears. You can wear your larger pieces all day long and into the night without experiencing neck fatigue, sore ears, or sore wrists that sometimes are a problem with larger pieces of jewelry.
